If you’ve ever imagined eloping somewhere wild, quiet and breath-taking — this is what a Peak District elopement experience could look like.
This shoot took place at Harpur Hill Quarry in the Peak District, a dramatic and peaceful location surrounded by limestone cliffs, turquoise water and sweeping views. I created this session to show couples what’s possible when you choose an adventurous, non-traditional wedding day that’s shaped entirely around you.
As a Peak District elopement photographer and planner, I often hear couples say:
“We want our wedding to feel like us — doing something we love together.”
This shoot was designed to capture exactly that feeling.
A Relaxed Start With a Short Hike in Boots
Rather than formal shoes and rigid schedules, this Peak District elopement-inspired shoot began with a short hike around the quarry in boots. Moving together through the landscape, stopping to take in the views and enjoy the moment, is one of the simplest ways to make an elopement feel natural and meaningful.
This is how I help couples plan their real elopements — building the day around things they already love doing together, like walking, exploring and being outdoors.
Wild Landscapes & Quiet Moments
Harpur Hill Quarry is a perfect example of how unique Peak District locations can feel when you step away from traditional wedding venues. The stillness, the space and the raw beauty of the landscape make it ideal for couples who want an intimate wedding in nature.
An elopement doesn’t have to follow rules — it can be slow, intentional and deeply personal.
A Sunset Picnic Surrounded by Nature
As the light softened, this elopement-inspired session flowed into a sunset picnic, surrounded by open countryside, grazing horses and peaceful views across the Peak District.
This is the kind of moment I help couples build into their real wedding days — time to sit, eat, laugh, breathe and simply enjoy being together, without being rushed from one thing to the next.

A Small Cake to Celebrate
Because even the most non-traditional weddings deserve cake.
A simple, meaningful cake is a lovely way to mark the moment — proof that eloping doesn’t mean missing out, it just means choosing what matters most to you.
Planning an Elopement That Feels Like an Adventure
I’m a UK wedding and elopement photographer & planner, offering all-in-one elopement packages for couples who want their wedding day to feel more like an adventure and less like a performance.
From location ideas in the Peak District, to timelines, logistics and photography, I help couples create unique, personalised elopements that reflect their personalities, hobbies and the way they love spending time together.
Your wedding day can look however you want it to.
Is a Peak District Elopement Right for You?
If you’re dreaming of:
A Peak District elopement or intimate wedding
A wedding day that feels relaxed, adventurous and true to you
A photographer who also helps plan the experience
A non-traditional UK wedding in nature
Then this could be the starting point for your own elopement story.
Your wedding doesn’t have to follow tradition.
It just has to feel like you.
